Shalom,

I started Level Dalet (4) today. It went well. We learned a large number of words concerning telephones. Last week I was asked to help out with some youth project. I said yes, so I went to that yesterday. It is called the International Youth Leadership Middle East Peace Initiative. They brought young people from many different places to learn about the situation in Israel and Palestine and also to do some service work. My helping out consisted of joining the activities. We listened to orientation presentations, went on a tour of the Old City, had lunch, did more touring, went shopping, listened to and spoke with guest speakers from a Palestinian peace organization, ate dinner, and listened to a presentation on www.mepeace.org. It was a fun and very interesting day. I learned almost everyone's names, and talked with most of them. I think that there were about twenty. They are interesting people.

A friend from Ulpan invited me to her birthday part this Friday. It is going to be in Ramallah. I have been wanting to see more of the West Bank.

Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2008 5:08 AM ~ Classes are going well. I don't know when finals are yet. I should be missing a day or two because of my flight. With the MEPI youth project, I only spoke English. There were a good number of people from the US, two from France, one from Malta, and I think some others, where from I don't know.

God bless you,
Michael
