Deuteronomy 6 (1) Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, ... (2) That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, ... thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. (4) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: (5) And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (6) And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: (7) And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. (13) Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him ... KJV

The WORD: John 1 (1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. (4) In him was life; and the life was the light of men, (5) And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (10) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (11) He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (13) Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father [express image & heir],) full of grace and truth. 1 John 5 (1) Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ [Messiah & Saviour] is born of God: and every one that loveth Him that begat [God the Father] loveth Him also that is begotten of Him [Messiah the Son]. (4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (5) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (6) This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. (7) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (8) And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. (9) If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. (11) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (12) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Can There Be
Life from Death?

The NAME: Philippians 2 (9) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (6) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: (7) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (9) Wherefore, God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: (10) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; (11) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Revelation 1 (1) The Revelation of Jesus Christ, ... (5) ... who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, (18) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Revelation 22 (13) I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (16) ... I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Acts 4 (10) Be it known unto you ... that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, ... (12) ... there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

The GLORY: Ephesians 1 (3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, ... (7) In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (10) That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: (17) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, (21) Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Persuasion:
2 Peter 1 (21) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The Bible Believer's persuasion, or system of religious beliefs, is to be governed by the Word of God through the counsel of the Holy Spirit. Believers will be accountable to the Lord for their understanding and application of His Word and His 'Plan of the Ages'. Once redeemed out of the kingdom of darkness and adopted into the Kingdom of God, the Believer is to become a Word Warrior ~ equipped with the sword of the Spirit and the armour of God to fight for the faith, to persuade the lost, and to encourage the brethren with spiritual gifts given to accomplish the tasks assigned. He has given each of the Redeemed areas of interest and insight to share the gospel with all who are willing to listen and take part in His Plan of Redemption.
Perception:
Luke 24 (27) And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he [Jesus] expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
The Bible does not pose the question of the existence of God, instead God says what he means and means what he says ... speaking to man individually and collectively through personal and historical presence. Whether we choose to believe it or not does not make it true or false; the reality is no more and no less than what it is because or regardless of the audience. The old riddle about the tree falling in the forest that asks if it made a sound if no one was there to hear it fall, is a good analogy of the Bible and God Himself ~ does He exist and did He write the Bible if we cannot perceive or prove Him to be real? God is Spirit, yet He interacts, intercedes, and intervenes with His creation in ways which we can perceive and understand ... history really is 'His Story'!
Perspective:
Isaiah 46 (9) ... I am God, and there is none else ... (10) Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done ...
God created all that there is, the seen and the unseen, for His purpose. To accomplish that purpose, God has a plan for His creation and those He created: He has given His prophets and righteous men knowledge of His plan through His Holy Spirit, His Living WORD, and the written Word. What is His purpose? What is His plan, from beginning to end? Can we know the overview or the details? Like a play being performed on the stage of creation (universe) and in the lives of the created (mankind), the drama has an opening, numerous acts, and a closing scene. The cast of main characters, each with specific roles, plays out the drama upon the stage and amongst the participants, within the props and settings. The Bible is an ages old drama that had a beginning and has an ending, but with a sequel yet to unfold ...

The Predicament:
God, who has no beginning and no end, is self-described as The Godhead of three Persons in one Being ~ The Father (Soul: the will, intellect, volition, cognition, emotion, creativity, cognizance, all aspects of Being), The Son (Body: the express image, manifestation, portrayal, seen representation of an unseen Spirit, all aspects personifying Being), The Holy Spirit (Spirit: the omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, life-giving, life-sustaining, all aspects of existence and presence of Being). God created all that exists ~ the spirit realm, without time and space, a permanent reality in which all that He made was perfect and complete. Created Beings, the Hosts of Heaven, were given authorities and positions to serve the Living God. To Lucifer, God gave the highest position, that of the Anointed Cherub. But pride was found in him; sin entered into the spirit realm. Lucifer rebelled against Almighty God and declared that he, a created being, would be above the Creator, the Most High who created him! Because of his sin, Lucifer, Son of the Morning, was removed from his position and renamed Satan, the Devil, the Serpent, the Dragon - the Prince of Darkness. All the multitudes of created beings chose their destinies: honor God and remain holy, or follow Satan in his quest to be like the Most High and rule, only to be separated from God ~ for eternity. A time of judgment awaits the angelic hosts who rebelled and left their first estate and original positions.
John 8 (44) ... the devil ... was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth ... 1 John 3 (8) ... the devil sinneth from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Revelation 12 (9) And
the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast
out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Revelation 20 (10) And the devil that deceived them was cast
into the lake of fire and brimstone ... Matthew 25 (41) ... everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
This rebellion in the permanent spiritual realm
began the drama that gave God's Plan fruition
|
The Place:
God created the physical realm within time and space, a temporary reality of which all that He made was good and perfect. When God created time and space, He created all that is in the physical realm in six (6) days and rested from His creative work on the 7th day, thereby establishing the framework and parameters of His Plan. When God formed man from the dust of the ground and woman from the form of man, He created and breathed life or lives into them with spirit, with soul, with will and intellect ~ in the image of God (soul, body, spirit)! With His foreknowledge of all things, God prepared a place for HIMSELF to dwell in the form of man: He would become The God-Man. To mankind, Adam & Eve, God gave the highest position in the physical realm: dominion over all the earth. God created a Garden on the earth, to be a place where He would walk and talk with man. God then placed man into the Garden, but He allowed the fallen Archangel, Satan, to enter into its perfection. In the midst of the Garden flowed a river that watered the Garden and two Trees: a Tree of Life and a Tree of Knowledge. God gave man only one law ~ not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge in the midst of the Garden. He did not forbid man to eat of the Tree of Life. Instead of enjoying all that God had given them, man & woman listened to the enticement of the Serpent (embodiment of Satan). They did not discern the Word of God, so first they doubted, and then they discounted, and finally they disobeyed God's command; they had rebelled against God and His Word. The consequence of this rebellion was the immediate death of (1) their spirits by separation from God, (2) their souls by the opening of their understanding to the knowledge of good and evil, and (3) their body by the deterioration and eventual death of their physical beings. Sin had come from the spiritual realm and found a place in the heart of man in the physical realm. By listening to the Serpent, man gave his dominion of the earth to Satan, a legal transfer of authority, making Satan the Prince of this World. Satan, having lost his authority in the Heavenlies, had now gained authority on the earth! God removed man from the Garden and He removed the Garden from the earth. Had man eaten from the Tree of Life after eating from the Tree of Knowledge, they would have been eternally separated from God, as are the fallen Hosts of Heaven. The curse of sin entered into the physical creation and the resulting death came upon the creation and mankind through Adam, the first man.
1 Corinthians 15 (20) But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (21) For since by man came
death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 2 Peter 3
(6) ... the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: (7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now,
by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Romans 8 (22) For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together ...
This rebellion in the temporary physical realm
began the work that gave God's Plan completion
|
The Plan:
Before the foundation of the earth, God in His holy and infinite wisdom prepared a way to overcome the curse and consequences of sin that had entered into the spiritual realm and would enter into the physical realm. For this purpose man was created. Only man could pay the penalty of sin through death. Only God could redeem all that was lost. The fallen Hosts of Heaven could not die and they could not be redeemed. But man could be redeemed! Only through mankind's redemption could the spiritual and physical realms be restored. So God's Holiness, Character, and Justice required a consequence: punishment for rebellion, and death for sin. The legal requirement to the problem that began in the Heavenlies was that the fallen Hosts of Heaven would have to be judged and punished. Yet at the same time God prepared a way to offer His mercy and loving kindness to His creation. God's Plan of Redemption had to be a legal exchange ~ Life for death and death for Life! Only man could die. Only God could give Life. The solution to the dilemma was that God had to become man to finalize the exchange: since by one man came death, by only One Man could come Life! Since the life is in the blood, the Blood of that One Man had to be shed to exchange the Life of the Sinless for the death of the sinful! The Way: God the Son was able to conquer the curse of sin and death because He is God, the visible manifestation of the Godhead (The Redeemer)! The Truth: God the Son was willing to become man in order to pay the price of death, both physical and spiritual (The Messiah). The Life: God the Son has the legal right to redeem mankind because He is also The Son of Man (The Kinsman)! God the Father, in and through His Only Begotten Son Jesus (Christ-Messiah-Savior), by the power of His Holy Spirit, gave His sinless eternal life in exchange for the sin and eternal death of mankind; to redeem that which was lost, to restore His personal relationship with mankind ~ this He gives as a free gift to all who believe that Jesus is God come in the flesh and trust in Him and His blood, shed once for all, to redeem them from the curse of sin and death. God provided 'Himself' a Lamb: the sacrifice was sufficient for all, but only those who apply the blood of the Lamb to their hearts to cleanse their sin are reconciled to God ~ by God and through God ~ He did it ALL!
1 John 4 (9) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him, (10) ... not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Colossians 1 (12) Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in
light: (13) Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
(14) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
The Resurrection assured what the Crucifixion secured!
|
The Purpose:
Before the foundation of the earth, God prepared a way to glorify, sanctify, and justify His Holy Name. The Holiness and Character of God, His Justice and judgment of the fallen Hosts of Heaven, and the destiny of mankind as they choose to follow God and receive His Life or remain in their sin and death, following Satan to share in the same judgment, as well as the destiny of the spiritual and physical creations are at stake in this drama of the ages. God knows the beginning from the end, and the end from the beginning. He is sovereign over all and in all things His purpose will be accomplished! Mankind's history shows God's patience and loving kindness, as well as the Justice of His judgments to all the Hosts of Heaven and all of mankind. In and through the God-Man, the Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus the Christ, individuals and nations will be redeemed, creation will be restored and Messiah will rule and reign from Mount Zion in Jerusalem ~ the place where God created the Garden to walk and talk with man in a personal relationship ~ to complete God's Plan of the Ages. The end of history and God's Plan will bring the final judgment; God will judge the fallen and rule the Holy - judge the lost of mankind and angels, and establish the redeemed of mankind above the Hosts of Heaven. He will destroy the works of the devil and the first heaven and earth tainted by sin and death. Then God will create new heavens and a new earth; He will reestablish His dominion over the spiritual and physical realms, where there will be no sin and death, He will restore redeemed mankind and enjoy personal relationship time without end, and He will glorify and magnify His Holy Name. God's throne, New Jerusalem, will descend from the Heavenlies to the new earth, where God will dwell among men and will be the Light of the Nations. He will be their God and the redeemed will be His people, worshiping the Almighty God forever!
Acts 3 (19) Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the
presence of the Lord; (2) And he shall send Jesus Christ ... (21) Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all
things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 1 Corinthians 15 (24) Then cometh
the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all
authority and power. (25) For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. (26) The last enemy that shall be
destroyed is death. (28) And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject
unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
Revelation 21 (1) And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away: ... (2) And
I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven ... (3) ... Behold, the tabernacle of God is with
men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (4)
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And the Redeemed of the Lord said, Hallelujah and Amen!

The Gift He Gave
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
What is the worth of a goodly gift and the value to behold?
Not in the material it is made of, nor in the effort to be sold.
Nor is there price to be paid for the thoughtfulness of the giver,
Not a currency for the joy of the one to whom it was delivered.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
When gifts are given and then received of earthly things as these,
That rust, break, and gather dust, soon forgotten or lost to thieves,
Things we thought would please only cause us to search for more,
Never satisfying our heart of hearts, nor filling our needs therefore.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The gifts that are of true value, more precious than silver and gold,
Are given from God's Heaven above and cannot be bought nor sold.
The Gift He gave had no honor or hope, no beauty, nor fine appeal,
His Gift is for the lowly and for the hearts who seek Heavenly zeal.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
For once He came from Glory, descending down to this earth's dust,
Just a babe, then a child grown to manhood, He was so like one of us.
Only God could offer His eternal Gift as He promised that He could,
Only God could become a Man to die upon that cross of bloody wood.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
For once He died of broken heart, a grief so deep His Soul was torn,
His Spirit paid the redemptive price for our sins that God did mourn.
For once He conquered death's deep grip, and dust and grave reviled,
The Father's will the Son obeyed, the Spirit's power of life revealed!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
His Gift of Forgiveness: He paid the price that sin demanded
His Gift of Redemption: He paid the price that God commanded
His Gift of Eternal Life: He gives to those believing like Thomas
His Gift of Holy Glory: He gives to those who trust His Promise!
